MacDonald, John Duncan

John Duncan MacDonald, for many years an outstanding farmer at Cape George, died Sunday night, June 15, 1941 at 10:30 at St. Martha’s Hospital, following  a brief illness at the age of 79.  Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald MacDonald, he was born at Cloverville, and spent most of his life at Cape George.  In addition to farming, Mr. MacDonald acted as road foreman for forty years and also was church warden at Lakevale until he moved to Antigonish town in 1934 on his retirement.  He was known as a constructive citizen and a good neighbor.  Besides his widow, the former Mary Dunn, Monk’s Head, he is survived by an adopted daughter, Florence Bond; two brothers: Daniel and Hugh MacDonald, Seattle; and a sister, Mrs. J.J. Chisholm, Brierly Brook.  The largely attended funeral was held at Lakevale…  Was also buried there.
