There died at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, July 26, 1945, Mrs. Dan Macdonald (nee Kate Gillis), at the age of sixty seven. Surviving are her beloved husband, two daughter; Mrs. John McMahon and Mrs. Rod Macdonald, both of New Glasgow; her mother, Mrs Isabel Gillis, Georgeville; six sisters and four brothers: Mrs. John Dineen, Mrs. Carl Josepheson , Mrs. Jennie Omears, and Nancy , all of Boston; Mrs. Allan Macdonald, LPleasant Valley; Mrs. J. W. Heffernan, Georgeville, Neil at Livingstone’ s cove; John J., Boston; Angus, Vancouver; and Dan Joe on the old homestead. One brother and one sister predeceased her. The funeral was held Saturday morning July 28, at St. John the Baptist church, Rev. D.r. Chisholm officiating. The pallbearers were, Allan Campbell, Leo Gillis, Pervie MacFarlane, Isadore Martin, John Burns, and Bill Hughes. The many Mass cards and wreaths received showed the esteem in which the deceased had been held.
