Funeral services for the late Mary Catherine MacDonald, 58, of Big Marsh, Antigonish County, were held this past Sunday in St. Mary’s Church, Maryvale, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. MacDonald Died on June 14 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Pallbearers were Cyril Campbell, Jamie Brown, Buddy MacDougall, John Van den Heuval, Varis Ricksts and Collie Fraser. Born in McGrath’s Mountain, Pictou County, she was a daughter of Catherine (Carewe) and the late John Michael Wells. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish. Besides her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Christine Catherine and Elizabeth Ann; two sons, Angus Joseph and Daniel Dougall, all at home; three sisters, Theresa (Mrs. Joseph) MacDonald, Shubenacadie; Sadie Stewart, Springfield; and Roseann De Wolfe, Antigonish; and two brothers, John Michael, Dunmore Road; and Leonard William, Georgeville. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald J.; and a sister in infancy, Tina.
