Word has been received here on Saturday of the death of Norman MacDonald, 72, in Great Falls on May 22nd at the Deaconess hospital following a short illness. Mr. MacDonald was born on Oct. 4, 1879 at Cape George, Nova Scotia and as a boy came to Western Montana, the family locating at Winston where his father, the late J. W. MacDonald operated a livery stable. The family moved to Missoula in 1908 and in 1925 Mr. MacDonald went to Great Falls where he has since made his home. He is survived by four sons, James W. of Vancouver, B.C., Floyd of Dunsmuir, California, Howard and Alvin, both in the U.S. Navy and a daughter, Mrs. Alice Jackson of Great Falls. Also by five sisters, Mrs. Geo. I Rider of Townsend, Mrs. J.A. Greaves of Toston, Mrs. PB. Argo of Hot Springs, Miss Edith MacDonald of Missoula and Miss Ida MacDonald of Syracuse, N.Y. Funeral services and burial were held in Great Falls on Monday of this week, the entire family attending. One son arrived from his home in Hawaii.
