The death occurred at St. Martha’s Hospital, after a lengthy illness, of Mrs. Catherine MacEachern, widow of William MacEachern, of Livingstone’s Cove. She was born at Cape George, daughter of the late Matilda and John MacInnis. The late Mrs. MacEachern is survived by two sons, Mark and John H. at home; two sons predeceased her in infancy and by seven daughters; Florence, (Mrs. Carl Shilling), Toronto; Ruth (Mrs. Earl Diggans), New Glasgow; Thelma, (Mrs. Burke), Halifax; Margaret (mrs. Angus MacEachern), Antigonish; Rita (Mrs. John MacDonald), Arisaig; Catherine (Mrs. John Gillis), Georgeville; Elizabeth, Antigonish; two foster sons also survive her; Garnet and Donald MacKay. She leaves four sisters; Mary Margaret (Mrs. O’Hara), Elizabeth, (Mrs MacGillivray) of Boston; Annie (Mrs. Gamlin), Saskatchewan; and three brothers: Dan Hugie, and Colin, Antigonish and Louis in Saskatchewan. Two brothers, Mark and William predeceased her. The largely attended funeral was held at St. George’s Church, Georgeville. Pallbearers were: John R. Gillis, Mike Novak, Alex MacMillan, Dan C. MacNeil, John D. Brown and Hugh MacPherson.
