County Native Dies at 80 – Catherine MacEachern, 80, died at her home at Elwood Lodge on February 23. The funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Ninian’s Cathedral on Monday and burial will be in the parish cemetery, Georgeville. The pallbearers were Alex MacAdam, John A. Chisholm, Bernard Chisholm, Arthur Arbuckle, Joseph MacDonald, and Leo MacDougall. Miss MacEachern was the last surviving member of the family of John and Mary Anne (MacDonald) MacEachern of Malignant Cove. She spent most of her life in the United States and returned to Malignant Cove about 20 years ago. She had resided in Antigonish for the past five years.
