Funeral services for the late Christina MacEachern, 83, were held on Sunday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with burial in the parish cemetery. Mrs. MacEachern died on December 22 in St. Martha’s Hospital. The active pallbearers for the service were grandsons, JOhn MacKenzie, Archie MacKenzie, Lawrence MacEachern, Gerard MacEachern, Joseph MacMaster, and Anthony MacEachern. The honorary pallbearers were grandsons John J. MacIntyre, Edward Mahoneye,Daniel Mahoney, Gordon MacKenzie, Albert MacEachern and James MacEachern. A native of Lakevale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (Dalton) Mahoney. She is survived by two sons; James, Halifax and Anthony, Morristown; four daughters: Mame (Mrs. Allan Ryan), Port Hawkesbury; Elizabeth (Mrs. St. Clare Wentzell), Bridgewater; Josephine (Mrs. J.H. MacEachern), Livingstone’s Cove and Anne (Mrs. William MacMaster) Jimtown; five foster children: Rudy Petrie, Arthur, Catherine, Shirley and Michael Macdonald; four sisters: Edna Murry, Libby (Mrs. Sid Leiper), and Isabel Bushell, all of New Jersey; and Mary Stoddard, Rhode Island; 36 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie; one daughter, Winnifred; a sister, Catherine; and one brother , Jim.
