Military Rites Held For Veteran – A funeral with military rites was held last Friday for Colin D. MacEachern, 67, who died suddenly at his Cape George Point home on October 14.  Mass was celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantynes Cove, and burial was in the parish cemetery.  Pallbearers for their veteran comrade were Morrison MacEachern, John H. MacInnis, Albert MacInnis, John Rankin Gillis, Joseph MacLean and Gillis MacEachern.  During World War II, Mr. MacEachern went overseas with the Pictou Highlanders and was wounded in action in Italy.  He was a member of Arras Branch Royal Canadian Legion.  Surviving are three sisters, Hyacinthe ( Mrs. William Genner), Regina; Margaret MacEacher, Cape George; Elizabeth MacLean, Boston; and two brothers, Angus, Antigonish and Thomas, Cape George Point, with whom he lived.  He was predeceased by his parents Ronald L. and Bessie (MacInnis) MacEachern of Cape George Point, three brothers and a sister.
