Edward Wendell MacEachern, age 83 , of Mississauga, Ont, formerly of Cape George, Antigonish Co., passed away unexpectedly at home. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Edward and Florence (MacDonald) MacEachern. Although he lived and worked in Ontario most of his life, Wendell faithfully made trips home to Cape George every year to see family and friends. He loved his work as a truck driver, often holding down two jobs at a time and he continued to drive even after his retirement. He is survived by sisters, Greta (Archie) Cameron, Mahoney’s Beach; Magdalen (Dave) Lowe, Antigonish; sister in law, Sharon MacEachern, Antigonish and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Allister MacEachern; brother in law, D.P. Chisholm, Jr. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Columba Church, Lakevale on Tuesday, June 12 at 10:00 am with Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding. Burial in parish cemetery. Donation in memory may be made to N.S. Heart and Stroke Fdn. or the Cape George Heritage Museum.
