On January 24, 1953, there passed to her eternal reward Mrs. James MacEachern, Ballantyne’s Cove. She was born October 31, 1884, Mary Christena MacDonald, daughter of the late Captain Angus MacDonald and Margaret (MacNeil) MacDonald. After being a successful school teacher in Antigonish and Inverness Counties, she married James F. MacEachern of this community. For over thirty years Mrs. MacEachern had been church organist in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove, also active in all community work. Left to mourn her loss is her husband, one daughter Mary Margaret at home, four son, Hugh, afton; Cyril, Kentville; James, Afton, and Austin at home. Two sisters, Catherine, Cambridge, Mass., Sr. Mary Austin, Bethany, Antigonish; two brothers, Colin, Ballantyne’s Cove, and Angus, Heatherton. Two children Flora and Angus predeceased her. Her remains were laid to rest in the family lost, Jan 26, Fr. Angus Bryden celebrated Requiem High Mass and conducted services at the grave. Pass bearers were her four sons, Hugh, Cyril, James and Austin, and two brothers Colin and Angus.
