At. St. Martha’s Hospital, July 9, 1943, after an illness of two months there passed to his eternal reward, William Joseph MacEachern at the age of 69 years. He received the last rites of the Church of which he was a devoted member. Deceased was born at Ballantyne’s Cove, son of the late Ronald MacEachern and Flora MacDonald. As a young man he followed bridge building in the Canadian West. Thirty three years ago he returned home to settle at Livingstone’s Cove in the parish of Georgeville. He was president of St. George’s Cooperative Ltd., for the past seven years and the success of this organization is due in great measure to his loyalty and direction. Industrious, a good neighbor, and highly regarded by his many friends for his kindly manner, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Surviving besides his wife, Catherine, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.MacInnis, S.S. Cape George, are two sons and seven daughters; Mark, John, Hugh, Thelma (Mrs. Dave Burke) Inverness; Florence, Toronto; Ruth, New Glasgow; Margaret and Rita, Antigonish; Catherine and Elizabeth at home; also one brother, James F. aMacEachern, Ballantyne’s Cove, and one sister, Mrs. Jack MacPherson, Antigonish. The funeral was held at Georgeville, July 12 where requiem Mass was celebrated by the pastor Rev, B. Campbell. The pall bearers were Neil Gillis, Alex MacMillan, Allan Adams, J. D. Brown, J.J. MacDonald and Duncan MacDonald.
