Funeral services were held last Monday for the late Charlotte MacGillivray, 83, of Pleasant Valley, Antigonish County, in St. Mary’s Church, Maryvale, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial as in the parish cemetery. Mrs. MacGillivray died September 9 in St. Martha’s Hospital. Pallbearers were Henry Mosher, Basil McAllister, John MacEachern, Huntley MacDonald, Angus MacDonald, and Dougie MacInnis. Born in Cape George, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (MacLean) MacDonald. She is survived by a son, Hugh; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. James MacLellan, and Catherine (Mrs. Hugh) MacDonald; and a brother, Dan Alex, all of Pleasant Valley; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan; a sister, Marion Sweetland; and two brothers, Allan and Duncan.
