Funeral services were held in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, for Elizabeth Amelia MacGillivray, 82, who died at the R. K. MacDonald Guest House on November 5. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Donald Murphy, Donald MacLellan, and grandsons Michael Murphy, Ricky MacPherson, Tom MacGillivray and Donald MacGillivray. Mrs. MacGillivray had been a postmistress for many years at Malignant Cove, where she and her husband Angus had made their home. She was born in Roxbury, Mass., a daughter of Alexander and Esther (Gunn) MacDonald. Her husband died about 30 years ago and she was also predeceased by sons John and William. Surviving are three sons, Ronald, Montreal; Joseph, Antigonish; Leo, Trenton; four daughters, Mary and Theresa (Mrs. Archie MacDonnell), both of Montreal; Esther (Mrs. Angus R. MacPherson), Georgeville; and Irene (Mrs. Donald Murphy), New Glasgow; 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
