Funeral services for the late Esther (Mrs. Angus) MacGillivray, 68, of Morristown, were held last Thursday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Mrs. MacGillivray died on March 9 in St. Martha’s Hospital. Active pallbearers for the service were Lloyd Boyd, John MacGillivray, Danny Boyd, Joe MacInnis, Hughie MacInnis and John H. MacGillivray. Honorary pallbearers were Roddie MacGillivray, Jimmy Delorey, John B. MacDougall, Fred Boyd, Shaw Boyd, and Donnie MacDonald. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Born in Georgeville, Antigonish County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Gillis) MacInnis. She worked at St. Francis Xavier University in the housekeeping department for 13 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the CWL of St. Columba Parish. Surviving are her husband; four daughters Marjorie (Mrs. Harold Chisholm, St. Francis Harbour; Blenda (Mrs. Richard) Derley, Boston, Mass.; and Mary (Mrs. Rollie) Uloth, and Rita (Mrs. Patrick) Soule, both of Burlington, Ont.; four sons, John and Donald both of Morristown; Joe, Hamilton, Ont.; and Dougals, British Columbia) two sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Shaw) Boyd, Morristown; and Catherine (Mrs. Kimbal) Falkenham, Ballantynes Cove; two brothers, Mark and John Hugh, both of Cape George; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Mary at birth; two sisters, Hilda (Mrs. Jack) Boyd and Mary (Mrs. Jack) MacDoanld; two brothers, Alex and William, and a grandson.
