Funeral services for the late James Alexander MacGillivray, 82, of Georgeville, Antigonish County, were held May 9 in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacGillivray died May 6 at the R.K, MacDonald Nursing Home and Guest House. Pallbearers were Edward Mahoney, Joseph Mahoney, Ray Roman, Allan MacIsaac, Leo MacInnis and Gerald MacDougall. Born in St. Andrews, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Dan J. and Margaret (MacGillivray) MacGillivray. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by a brother, William, Weymouth, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary MacDougall; four sisters, Anna (Mrs. John) MacPherson, Masie (Mrs. John D.) MacDonald, Sadie (Mrs. Jim) Mahoney, and Florence (Mrs. Colin) MacLean; and two brothers, John Joe and Ronald.
