30 Dec 1938
Mrs. Hugh MacInnis. At her home in Boston, On Dec 30, 1938, there passed to her eternal reward Mrs. Catherine MacInnis, beloved wife of the late Hugh (Colin) MacInnis. She was the oldest daughter of the late John and Sarah Beaton who moved from Inverness, C.B. with their family to Morar, Antigonish Co., many years ago. Mrs. MacInnis with her husband and family moved from Point Cape George sixteen years ago to Boston where the husband died eleven years ago. For over half of her 83 years, the deceased was the victim of a painful malady, which sapped her physical strength, and which for many years left her practically an invalid. The pains of her illness and her many sorrows failed to dim that spark of humor, that great courage and faith for which she was always noted and which endeared her to her many friends. And those friends and relatives showed their esteem in a particular way by sending many Mass cards and messages of condolence. After the frequent reception of the Sacraments, she did all the things well, with the assurance of a restful and happy hereafter……. Buried at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury beside her husband and son. Mrs. MacInnis is survived by two daughters and three sons: Mabel, Mrs. A Chisholm, Georgeville; Sally Mrs. J. MacPherson, Boston; Michael in B.C.; Rod in Boston; and Colin in Bailey’s Brook, Pictou; also by four sisters: Mrs. M. Gildersleeve, Mrs. S. B Kennedy, Miss Mollie Beaton and Mrs. L.J. MacEachern , Antigonish.
