A well-known Antigonish farmer-fisherman, 83-year-old Dan A. MacInnis of Georgeville, died in St. Martha’s Hospital. He lived in Georgeville most of his life and took an active interest in church and community activities. Mr. MacInnis is survived by six sons, two daughters, four sisters and 32 grandchildren. His wife, the former Martha MacEachern, Cape George, and an infant daughter, predeceased him in 1923. A son, Hughie was killed in action while serving with the Canadian Army overseas in 1944. Surviving sons include, Alexander, New Glasgow; Lauchlie, Lower South River; Leo, at home; Gillis, Arisaig; Angus, Sydney; and Donald, Lower South River. Daughters are: Isabel (Mrs. Mark MacInnis), Point of Cape George; and Sadie (Mrs. Edward King), Norwood, Mass. Sisters include: Marybelle (Mrs. Angus R. MacDonald), New Glasgow; Hannah (Mrs. Ben Grant), Newton Centre, Mass.; Florence (Mrs. Charles Glawson), Newton Centre, and Margaret MacInnis, Newton Centre. Following Requiem Mass celebrated by Rev. L. Gillis in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, burial took place in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were his six sons.
