Funeral services for the late Daniel James MacInnis, 83, of Cape George, Antigionish County, were held on July 12 in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacInnis died on July 9 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Pallbearers were nephews Richard Barker, Winston and Buddy Mason, Harold J., and Bill MacPhie, and Jackie MacInnis. Lector for the service was grandnephew Allan MacPhie, of Antigonish. Born in Cape George Point, he was a son of the late John H. and Anastasia (MacDonald) MacInnis. He was a fisherman and farmer in Cape George most of his life. He is survived by five sisters, Linda (Mrs. Hudson) Poole, Lakevale; Christine (Mrs. Henry) Chabot, Lynn, Mass.; Louise (Mrs. Harold) MacPhie, Antigonish; Florence Mason, Merigomish; and Hannah, Cape George Point; and a brother, Albert, Antigonish. He was predeceased by four sisters, Janet, Catherine, Margaret Ann and Gertrude; and two brothers, Hugh J. and Augustus.
