Funeral services for the late Daniel Joseph MacLean, 84, of Georgeville, Antigonish County, took place March 26, in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, with Rev Angus MacGillivray officiating.  Burial was in St. George’s cemetery.  Mr. MacLean died March 23, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.  Readers at the Mass were LInda MacInnis and Charlene Falkenham.  Active pallbearers were  Bobbi MacEachern, Jody Fanning, Norma Falkenham, Karla Fanning, Matthew McEwen and Lesley MacInnis.  Honorary pallbearers were Harry, John Angus and Thomas O’Brien, Allan MacIsaac, Jim and John Allan MacLean. He was a farmer most of his life.  He is survived by his wife, the former Marcella Hart; seven daughters, Betty Kirk, Tennessee; Florence (Mrs. Daniel) Falkenham, Cape George; Veronica fanning and Carly MacEachern, both of Antigonish; Marion (Mrs Paul) McEwan and Patricia Burnside, both of Saint John, N.B.; and Linda (Mrs. James) MacInnis, Livingstones Cove; four sons, A.J., Vincie and Jamie, all of Hamilton, Ont.; and Stevie, Toronto, Ont.; a sister, Peggy MacLean, Boston, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, David, in infancy; a sister, Mary O’Brien; and two brothers, John and Alex.
