At Georgeville, July 8, 1925, after a long illness borne with Christian resignation, John J. MacNeil in his 79th year. The deceased was born in the parish of Christmas Island, C.B. and in early life took up his abode in Georgeville. Honest and upright in his dealings, strong in faith, punctual in attending to his religious duties, his whole life was a preparation for the passage to eternity. A devout reception of the last sacraments consoled and encouraged him at the end. After a requiem high mass by the pastor, Rev. J.R. MacDonald, his remains were laid to rest with those who went before to their reward. He is survived by one sister and one brother, Boston, three sons and four daughters, all of whom attended the funeral services.
