14 Oct 1939
There died at his home October 14th, John Roderick MacNeil, son of Mr and Mrs. James MacNeil, Big Marsh, on his twenty-first birthday, consoled by the last rights of the Catholic Church of which he was a devoted member. He was a young man of sterling qualities, sober, thoughtful, and honest, and he bore his illness of six months with admirable patience. He leaves to mourn their loss besides his sorrowful parents, one sister, Mary, at home. The remains were tenderly laid to rest beside his infant brother in the family lot at Georgeville.
