MacNeil, Margaret (MacInnis)

15 Sep 1942 Margaret MacNeil (MacInnis)

Died at St. Martha’s Hospital, September 15, 1942, Mrs. Margaret MacNeil, widow of Rod MacNeil and daughter of Mr and Mrs Colin MacInnis, all of Greendale, Antigonish Co.  Endowed with many virtues, Mrs MacNeil’s life was a shining example to all.  Her kindness and hospitality will long be remembered by all her friends, while her charity was unbounded.  Though in poor health for many years, she allowed nothing to stand in the way of her reception of the sacraments, and during her long illness she had that great  consolation weekly.  Mrs. MacNeil leaves to mourn her only daughter Mary Agnes who, at the first call, came home and stood by during the five months of her mother’s illness.  She is survived also by three sisters, and two brothers:  Mrs. Ronald MacEachern, Ballantyne’s Cove, Sr. M. Bibiana and Sr.  M. Hyacinth, both of the Sisters of Charity, Halifax; Joseph and Dan in California.  After requiem Mass, and prayers at the grave by Rev. B. Campbell, she was tenderly laid to rest in Georgeville cemetery, beside her loved ones – a little son Joe and her husband who predeceased her by nineteen and eight years respectively.
