At Morar, Antigonish Co., September 22, Mrs. Charles MacNeil, widow of the late Charles MacNeil, died in her 71st year after a long illness which she bore with Christian patience.  Strong and sincere in her faith and devoted to religious duties, her life was an example and inspiration to all who knew her.  She was of a kind, cheerful disposition, beloved by all her acquaintances, and her home was always open to young and old.  Friends and strangers received the same warm welcome.  She leaves to mourn the loss of a devoted mother, eight daughters, two sons; Mrs. Jack Doyle, (Annie, Malden; Mrs. Alexander MacDonald (Ada), Vancouver; Mrs. John A. MacDonald (Rita), Waltham;  Mrs Theadore Barber (Catherine), Elizabeth, New Jersey; Florence at home who tenderly nursed her mother during her long illness, Mrs. William McIsaac (Pauline), Victoria; Gertrude, New York; Mrs. Joseph Depersis (Genevieve), Jamestown, R.I., who had been home visiting her mother two months ago; Dan Charles at home; Albert, Cambridge, who was present at her funeral.  She also leaves to mourn 16 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother; Dan MacInnis, Point of Cape.  The pass bearers were Allie Adams, John H. MacInnis, William MacInnis, Mary MacInnis, Neil Gillis, Mark MacEachern.  The funeral which was largely attended took place Saturday morning Sept. 25.  Requiem high Mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Blaise Campbell.  The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in St. George’s cemetery, Georgeville.
