In St. Martha’s Hospital, Sara MacNeil, long time resident of Antigonish County, passed to her eternal reward. She had been confined to the Hospital during a lengthy illness. Miss MacNeil was born at Malignant Cove on the North Shore of Antigonish County and lived there her entire life. Born in July of 1881, she was the daughter of Colin MacNeil and Mary MacDonald. She had been very active in Community affairs until her declining years. She was a member of the St. George’s Parish in Georgeville and one of the longest records of continuous memberships belonged to her. Miss MacNeil was predeceased by her parents and by one brother, Dan, and one sister, Sadie Ann. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. George’s Church in Georgeville and burial was in the family plot in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Alex MacAdam, Gorman Chisholm, John Angus Chisholm, Lee MacInnis, John MacInnis and John Dan Heffernan.
