MacPherson, Christina, 96, of the Antigonish Manor and formerly of Livingstone’s Cove died peacefully in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on August 3, 2009.
Born in Meadow Green, she was a daughter of the late Roderick James and Mary Eliza Chisholm.
Chrissie dedicated her life to her family. Her five granddaughters were the love of her life. Affectionately known as “the girls” to her, she proudly spoke of their many accomplishments. For many years, Chrissie was a dedicated parishioner of St. George’s Church and was an active member of the Altar Society. She was always an active member in her community. Chrissie continued to provide a leadership role during her years at the Antigonish Manor where she made many close friends.

Chrissie had a great zest for life. She enjoyed people and was always up for a good game of cards. For many years she was employed at St.
Martha’s Hospital as a seamstress.
Chrissie is survived by her daughter Patsy, Dartmouth; granddaughters Sarah, Kathleen, Laura, Leah, and Emma; son-in-law Terry Thompson; sister-in-law Mary “Tommie” Chisholm and brother-in-law Alexander MacPherson.
Predeceased by her husband Hugh; daughter Mary G. Thompson; brothers Duncan, Tom, and Joe; and sisters Jessie Grant and Marie Brown.
Visitation will be held Wednesday in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, from 6 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, at 10:30am, with Reverend Anthony Chukwunta officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
