Miss Henrietta MacPhie, well known resident of Cape George, passed away Sunday night, January 2nd in St. Martha’s Hospital following a brief illness.  Last of the ten children of the late Alexander and Isabella (MacPhee) MacPhie, she was born at the Cape.  After living most of her years at Roxbury, MASS., Miss MacPhie upon her retirement 16 years ago, returned to her native heath, and built and attractive cottage for herself  in the center of the Cape George community.  Surrounded by her personally attended flower gardens, the eye pleasing property was accorded special  attention by visitors from far and near.  Miss MacPhie provided floral offerings each Sunday for St. David’s United Church during the summer months.  The funeral, which was conducted by the Rev. E.V. Forbes, D.D. of Antigonish, was held on Tuesday afternoon, Jan 4th, from her home with interment in  St. David’s United Church cemetery.  Pall bearers were Leonard and Harold MacPhie, Kimball Falkenham, Austen MacEachern, John MacLellan and Harold Ballantyne.
