There passed away at St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, April 23, 1947, after a short illness, aged 77, Seward W. MacPhie, Cape George. A highly respected resident Mr. MacPhie was an elder of St. David’s Church, Cape george, for over 30 years, and a member of the choir for over 40 years. Twice married, his first wife was Isabelle Reynoplds, who predeceased him by 36 years. HIs second wife, Annie Ballentine, died 10 years ago. He leaves to mourn four daughters and two sons by his first wife; (Bertha), Mrs. Jack MacDoanld, Eastern Passage; (Jean), MRs. Robert Perrelle, New York; (Muriel), Mrs. George Mason, Dartmouth; (Anne), Mrs. Tom Conlin, Boston; Arnold, new Glasgow; and Leslie, Montreal. Also surviving are one daughter by the second marriage, Ella, Mrs. Alex Adams, Cape George , and two sisters, Mrs. J.C. MacNaughton and Miss Etta MacPhie, Cape George.
