McEachern, Albert “Elbert”

Stellarton- A well-known and respected resident of this town, Elbert MacEachern, Stellar Street, died at an early hour this Tuesday morning at his home, after a lengthy illness. Born in Cape George, 78 years ago, he was a son of the late Dougall and Isabel MacEachern. He moved to Antigonish with his family at the age of 7. Mr. MacEachern was a brakeman with the CNR until his retirement in 1959 and was a member of the Brotherhood of Trainmen. Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Giffin of Goldboro; two sons, Allison of Stellarton and Clinton of Montreal; and four grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Edward Joceyn, of Antigonish. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. The remains will rest at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, South Foord St., Stellarton, after 7 o’clock this Tuesday evening. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 3:30pm from the funeral home. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
