She had a family of ten children, seven daughters and three sons, of whom seven survive her: namely, Mrs. Mary MacGillivray, Antigonish, Mrs. John MacGillivray, Antigonish, Mrs. Hector McDonald, Maryvale, Mrs. John W. D. Beaton her remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband at Ballantyne’s Cove cemetery.  Her funeral was one of the largest ever seen in the parish, showing the respect and esteem in which she was held by her friends and neighbors of all denominations.  The last five years had been a period of preparation for death, and her strong faith made the last end a happy one.  She lived a blameless life always keeping in mind the eternal home.
