8 May 1918 Sgt. John Cameron McEachern
At Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, on May 8, Sergeant John Cameron McEachern, son of L.J. and Annie McEachern, of Inverness in the 21st year of his age. Sergeant McEachern went to England with the 185th HIghland Brigade, where he contracted severe illness. Invalided home a year ago, he spent some time at the Sanitorium at Kentville, thence he went to Camp Hill for an operation. Medical skill proved unavailing . Gentle and generous he endeared himself with his acquaintance. The bereaved parents who dearly prized him keenly feel their loss. The body was conveyed to Ballantynes Cove, his native home, and laid to rest beside his four sisters and brothers, after Requiem High Mass. May he rest in peace.
