Death of a Young Religious: The Sisters of St. Martha sustained a keenly felt loss in the death of Sister Margaret Mary, which occurred at St. Martha’s Hospital on Wednesday morning, January 25. During a lingering illness borne with true religious fortitude, she joyfully offered the sacrifice of her life to her Creator and Divine Spouse, whom she had served so faithfully during the brief span of her earthly career. Strengthened by the consoling rites of Holy Church, she peacefully passed in the 26 year of her age, surrounded by the members of her congregation , her parents and sister. Her deep faith and sincere piety blended with rare gifts of heart and mind , endeared her to the community of which she was a devoted and useful member. Sister Margaret Mary was formerly Miss Sarah MacPherson, the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Angus MacPherson of Georgeville. She was born on November 6, 1901, entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of St. Martha on November 1, 1920, received the Holy Habit on May 15, 1921 and pronounced her first vows on Nov. 21, 1922. The funeral services were held on Friday the 27th. Buried in Bethany cemetery.
