On Nov. 20th, 1921 at Tucson Arizona, Daniel R. MInnis in the 44th year of his age.  The deceased who was ill for some time, sold out his property at Ballantynes Cove and went west with the hopes of improving his health, but his time had come.  His wife with him to the end.  The deceased was an honest, upright and respectable citizen, industrious and saving.  He sailed the Pictou packet for Gillis and McDonald and gave every satisfaction to the public.  He was also a foreman for the public works department at Ballantyne’s Cove.  His wife was Mary Gillis of Georgeville.  He leaves to mourn their loss a disconsolate wife, and five small children – one girl and four boys.  His remains were accompanied home by his wife and after high mass by Rev. D. Beaton, he was laid to rest at Ballantyne’s Cove church yard. The large number who attended the funeral showed in what high esteem he was held by the public.
