MURPHY, Janet Rose – 69, passed away Friday, April 14, 2006, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital , Middleton. Born in Ballantyne’s Cove, she was a daughter of the late Harold C. and Louise (MacInnis) MacPhie. Janet was an active member in St. Monica’s Parish and a charter member of St. Monica’s Catholic Women’s League. She will be greatly missed by the Flannel Friends. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, with the Twelve Baskets Food Bank and was also a member of the Valley Action for Life. She was a lifetime blood donor. Janet was a very active volunteer in her community and a much lived care giver to many children. She is survived by daughter Catherine (Brian) Phelan, Beaverbank; sons Christopher (Cynthia), St. John’s, NL.; Douglas, Calgary; Dale (Kimberly), Wolfville; sisters Joan (Malcolm) MacEachern, Antigonish; Doris Fox, Chicago; Anne (Ray) MacDonald, Arisaig; Gladys (Jimmy) MacGillivray, Antigonish; brothers Harold J. (Patsy) MacPhie, Cape George; twin brother John M. MacPhie, Antigonish; grandchildren Carl (Jennifer), Megan, Brendan, Chelsea, Solomon, Benjamin, Leigh, Tessa Rose; sister-in-law Marion Ann (Alex) Chisholm, Antigonish; brother-in-law Arthur (Dawn) Murphy, Dartmouth, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Carl; brothers Billy and Leonard. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 18 at 11 am in St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church.
