John Ransome, 89 Died in Hospital – One of Antigonish County’s oldest residents died early Tuesday morning in Saint Martha’s Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 89 year old John Ransome of South Side Cape George, one of the district’s better known farmers. He was also engaged in fishing during his life-long residence at Cape George. The deceased lived alone for many years. He was unmarried and has no survivors in the area. Two nephews are reported living in the United States. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon with services at the Saint Columba Church, Lakevale at 2:30, with interment in the Parish Cemetery.
