Funeral services for the late Ricky H. Redden, 52 of Cape George, Antigonish County, were held this past Tuesday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Rev. Angus MacGillivray and Rev. Vincent Van Zutphen officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Redden died on October 1 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Pallbearers were Wally Chugg, Johnnie V. MacEachern, Leon Beaton, Patrick Van Zutphen, John Van Zutphen, and David Van Zutphen. Lectors for the service were Maureen Van Zutphen, Ted Van Zutphen and Annie Beaton. Born in Keldonk, Holland, she was a daughter of John and the late Elizabeth (Van den Hoogen) Van Zutphen. She was a member of St. Columba CWL. Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Mike; two sons, Gordon and Derick, both at home; two sisters, Annie (Mrs. A.J.) Beaton; and Mary (Mrs. Freeman) Buchanan, both of Port Hood; eight brothers, Henry, Lower South River; Frank, Liverpool; Rev. Vincent, St. Peter’s Seminary, London, Ont.; John and Ted, both of Port Hood; Ben and Joe, both of Gaithersbury, Md.; and Alphonse, Edmonton.
