On December 11, 2025, our precious baby Gianna Myelle was called to heaven. Gianna was here for a short time on Earth but has given us a lifetime of love. Gianna was surrounded by the love of her parents Caroline (Asselin) and David Richards, as well as her sisters Jahtasia and Nylah, and her big brother Cavandre. Her life deeply touched the hearts of her grandparents, Janet and Nygel Francis and Frances Campbell and Georges Asselin. Gianna will also be sadly missed by her aunts, and uncles, Kathlyn (Asselin) and Dan DeForest, Alexandre and Kelly Asselin, Martin and Megan Richards, Jany Francis, and Nyja Francis; cousins, Sadie, Luke, Beau, Arie, Axel, Martin Jr, and Megan and many extended family. Gianna was a gift that touched many lives in her short time on earth. It brings us comfort knowing that our baby girl is now in the strong arms of her grandfather, Desmond Richards. A Funeral Mass will be held January 10, 2026, at St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, Nova Scotia at 11:00am with Fr. Danny MacLennan presiding. We would like to say a special thank you to C.L. Curry Funeral Home, St. Martha’s Hospital Emergency Doctors and Nurses, as well as the Emergency Responders, who tried to save Gianna. Special Thank you to Fr. Daniel MacLennan and Sister Catherine MacGillivray for their support.
