Funeral services for the late Albert “Rankin” Roberts, 74, Montreal, Quebec, were held December 5 in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantynes Cove, with Father Daniel MacDoanld officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Roberts died November 25, 2001, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Montreal. Readers at the funeral Mass were Marguerite Birette, Leona MacDonald and Allan Roberts. Eucharistic minister was Lillian MacEachern. Judy MacLean lit the candle. James MacPherson was organist and soloist. Honorary pallbearers were Allan MacIsaac, Paul MacDonald, Malcolm MacEachern, Allan Adams, Harold Ballantyne and Albert MacEachern. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Leo and Violet (Burgey) Roberts. He was employed with Locas-Rotex and Air Canada in Montreal. He is survived by his wife, Pirette; three sons, Allan, Montreal; Larry and Philip, Toronto; three grandchildren; five sisters,
Leona MacDonald, Toronto; Mary Alice “Nancy” MacDonald, Antigonish; Dona (Leo) Grant, Thunder Bay; Charlotte (Allan) MacIsaac, Georgeville, Ant. Co.; Marguerite (Joe) Birett, Burlington; brother , Allan (Beverly), Antigonish. He was predeceased by brother, Larry; sister Yvonne MacLean.
