In Cambridge, Mass., July 7, 1947, Alexander J. Tate, Arlington, Mass., died by accident.  A son of the late William Tate and Mary (Fraser) Tate, Frasers Grant, Antigonish, he is survived by his widow Jessie (MacMillan) and three young children, William, Mary and James.  Also to mourn his loss are his mother and four brothers and three sisters:  John, Roslindale; Charles, Braintree, Mass.; Austin, Pictou; James at home; sister M. Pauline, O.S.F, St. Claris Hospital, New York City; Margaret, Brookline, Mass.; and Sadie at home.  Solemn High Mass of requiem was celebrated at St. Agnes Church, Arlington, by Rev. John J. Kenny, Providence, R.I., with Father Dillion, sub-deacon, and Rev. Hilary Sullivan, O.F. M., New York city, as master of ceremonies.  Present also in the sanctuary were Rev. Leo H. Carlan, Providence, R.I.; Rev Cornelius Kelly, O.F.M., and Rev. Gabriel Macdonald, O.F.M., Boston.  The burial was at New Calvary cemetery, Roslindale, Mass.  Fatherine Hilary Sullivan conducted services at the grave.
